Possible effects of the recent earthquake in Turkey by the European
Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said in a report published on
Thursday.
The
bank said this is a "sensible estimate" due to the probable improvement
from rebuilding efforts advanced this year, which will balance the damaging
impact on supply chains and infrastructure.
"The
earthquake affected to a large extent agricultural areas and areas where there
is light manufacturing, so spillovers to other sectors are limited," European Bank for Reconstruction and Development chief
economist Beata Javorcik told Reuters.
Turkey
and neighboring Syria have been shocked by a shocking earthquake on
Feb. 6 which executed more than 41,000 people and left millions in need of charitable
aid, with many survivors having been left displaced in the near-freezing winter season.
